1. Product Definition & Principle

LLDPE Stretch Film (also called Pallet wrap or cling film) is a high-performance packaging film made from linear low-density polyethylene. It applies holding force on the wrapped items, securing them during transportation and storage. This holding force comes from the film’s stretching during application, while its tackiness prevents slippage, creating a “dynamic skin” for reliable load stability.

Key Functions:

• Unitization & pallet wrapping (Pallet)

• Preventing load shifting or collapse during transit

• Moisture-proof, dust-proof, tamper-proof, shock absorption, odor barrier

3. Main Components

1. LLDPE resin – petroleum-derived, price fluctuates with oil market.

2. Tackifiers – improve cling between film layers.

3. Metallocene LLDPE – enhances puncture resistance and tensile strength; higher ratio = better performance but higher cost.

4. Functional additives:

   • Anti-static agents (10⁹–10¹¹ Ω surface resistance)

   • Biodegradable additives (95% degradation within 3 years)

   • Color masterbatch / printing inks for branding or anti-theft

4. Production Process

1. Feeding & Mixing – special films require >30 min mixing.

2. Cast Film Process – molten resin extruded through T-die into mother rolls (~40kg).

3. Rewinding & Slitting

   • hand stretch film (Manual Stretch Film) ≤ 5kg

   • Machine stretch film (Machine Use Stretch Film) ≥ 10kg

4. Final Packaging – carton boxes or palletized with stretch wrap.

• Pre-stretch film – low elongation, easier for manual wrapping.

• Anti-static film – prevents electrostatic buildup.
