About
Jess performs in-depth searches of scientific and medical literature and gathers competitive intelligence for North Carolina's life science professionals. She is always looking for new ways to synthesize and retrieve data to better meet the needs of companies and help them make informed business decisions. In addition to research, Jess delivers scientific literature directly to startups and emerging companies through the Life Science Intelligence Document Delivery service as well as promoting open access to journals.
Jess received her master’s of science in library science from UNC-Chapel Hill in May 2016. Prior to joining the NCBiotech team, she worked at the Environmental Protection Agency Library RTP and Smith Anderson LLP, searching databases and providing literature to both a scientific and legal audience. Jess honed her writing skills as an undergraduate, earning her bachelor’s in English and theatre from Peace College.
